About The Position

Harper Industries is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laser & Plasma Operator to support our manufacturing team on day shift. This role is responsible for operating CNC laser and plasma equipment—including TRUMPF laser systems—to produce high-quality parts, while also assisting in other areas of the fabrication department as needed. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Proficiency with basic measuring tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating CNC laser or plasma equipment preferred
Experience with fabrication equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

Operate CNC laser and/or plasma cutting equipment, including TRUMPF laser systems, to meet quality and production standards
Set up machines, load materials, and monitor operations based on job specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production instructions
Perform in-process and final quality checks using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures
Handle raw materials and finished parts, including sorting, stacking, and organizing
Clean, deburr, and prepare parts for downstream processes
Perform basic preventative maintenance and promptly report equipment issues
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures and properly utilize required PPE
Operate a forklift as needed (training/certification provided if necessary)
Support team objectives and production goals, including overtime as required
