About The Position

Operates plastic fabrication machines such as cut-off saws, pullers, pneumatic operated bellers, bending equipment, electrical heaters and water-cooling tanks. Uses various hand tools such as tape measurers, calipers, go/ no go gauges and wrenches in the fabrication of rigid PVC products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience with computers and basic keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in changing situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Work at following and promoting company safety rules and policies and following accepted safe work practices.
  • Safely operate forklift to move properly packaged finished products to an outside pad area.
  • Be able to listen and comprehend all the training given.
  • Know how to package all sweeps and elbows with supervision.
  • Must be able to identify the different pipe and the different pipe conditions.
  • Know how to read the micrometers, pi tape and how to use all inspection gauges.
  • Must show a cooperative attitude and work well with others and the supervisor.
  • Must be able to manage time to the best interest of the department; showing up on time, not taking long breaks or lunch periods.
  • Attend required training sessions, wear the required safety equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and other safety equipment that might be required for certain jobs or tasks.
  • Be willing to learn new tasks and take on individual responsibilities.
