About The Position

NAC International, a global provider in nuclear fuel cycle management solutions and consulting services, is seeking a detail-oriented Fabrication Manager with strong organizational management and problem-solving skills to join our growing team at our Peachtree Corners, GA headquarters. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Fabrication Manager at NAC International, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the successful manufacturing of components for spent fuel storage and transportation systems. This position bridges engineering design and supplier execution, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong technical judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly regulated environment. You’ll work closely with fabricators, internal engineering teams, and clients to maintain compliance with industry standards while driving efficiency and quality throughout the fabrication process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent engineering-related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience working with fabricators and constructors, preferably in the nuclear industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Must be customer focused with the ability to develop effective relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a matrixed project environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time for overnight and extended travel, including the potential for overseas travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in 10 CFR Parts 50, 71 and 72 preferred.
  • Application and interpretation of welding codes (Section IX, AWS) heavily preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable ASME codes and standards including NQA-1 experience heavily preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface with our fabricators to ensure on-time product delivery, cost and schedule performance, compliance with project budget, and to ensure technical and quality requirements of NAC and NAC’s clients are met.
  • Regularly visit fabricators to verify progress, interface with customer representatives, witness critical inspections/tests, address fabrication issues as they occur and issue trip reports with recommended follow up actions.
  • Conduct fabrication readiness assessments, prepare document change requests for specifications and drawings and recommend disposition of fabricator initiated nonconformance reports as required in coordination with engineering, quality, and project management.
  • Review all required prefabrication documents, solicit other required reviews and review final documentation packages, ensuring resolution of technical, quality, and regulatory comments.
  • Upon the completion of a project, review performance of the fabricator, identify successes and areas for improvement, and prepare a comprehensive project close-out report, documenting accomplishments, lessons learned, and make recommendations for the next project.
