About The Position

The Fabrication Machinist supports a variety of fabrication processes, with a focus on operating and setting up press brake and other fabrication equipment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work across multiple areas of fabrication. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn and support production needs. This role may also function as a Fabrication Lead when designated, providing day-to-day guidance, coordination, and support to team members within the Fabrication department.

  • Press brake experience preferred
  • Fabrication or machining experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and adjustments to ensure quality
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges)
  • Support other fabrication processes including sawing, machining, drilling, and material handling
  • Assist with material preparation and movement throughout production
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all PPE requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include occasional travel
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to fabrication team members to ensure production goals are met
  • Help prioritize workflow and coordinate jobs in alignment with production schedules
  • Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting fabrication or machine-related issues
  • Monitor work for quality, accuracy, and efficiency; address issues in real time
  • Assist in training and onboarding new team members on equipment and processes
  • Reinforce safety policies and promote a safe working environment
  • Communicate regularly with the Fabrication Supervisor regarding production status, personnel concerns, and improvement opportunities
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, including identifying process and workflow enhancements
  • Lead by example in attendance, work ethic, quality, and adherence to company values
