Leads 3rd shift employees in the fabrication department, setting up and operating fabricating machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic workpieces. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating all machines, preparing the workload for the machines running on the 3rd shift, and communicating with the Fabrication Manager and 1st shift supervisory personnel. The Fabrication Lead is responsible for reporting information on employee performance for reviews and disciplinary actions, verifying workpiece conformance to specifications, and understanding the fabrication of materials. A key responsibility is training new 3rd shift personnel on computer usage for logging in/out and operating machines, including understanding light curtains. The role also includes inspecting parts using precision measuring equipment, documenting inspection data, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
