About The Position

This role supports the pipe fabrication department by assisting with welding preparation, fitting, and material handling tasks, while actively developing the skills and knowledge necessary to become a highly competent and skilled pipe welder through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Requirements

• Labourer/Apprentice Welder with pipe fabrication experience
• CSTS-20/CSO, WHMIS 2015, and Basic Rigging Level 1 are required
• Strong ability to accurately read and interpret welding symbols
• Proficient in handling, maintaining, and operating cutting tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, grinders, torches, and beveling machines
• Consistently demonstrates careful material and equipment handling
• Capable of following both verbal and written instructions
• Demonstrated rigging skills with knowledge of safe lifting practices

Responsibilities

• Assisting with welding preparation, fitting, and material handling tasks.
• Developing skills and knowledge to become a competent pipe welder through hands-on experience and mentorship.
• Accurately reading and interpreting welding symbols to ensure high-quality fabrication.
• Handling, maintaining, and operating cutting tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, grinders, torches, and beveling machines.
• Carefully handling materials and equipment to maintain clean work areas and support quality welding processes.
• Following both verbal and written instructions from welders and supervisors clearly and precisely.
• Demonstrating rigging skills with knowledge of safe lifting practices.
