About The Position

The Fabrication Designer I works within the Design team using Permasteelisa proprietary software (PMF). The person in this role is responsible for reading and interpreting 2D shop drawings of curtain wall, and then translating them into 3D using Autodesk Inventor and bill of materials for material planning and orders. They will work with Sr. designers, structural engineers, and production managers to translate design concepts into production information.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years relevant experience
  • Competent in Autodesk Inventor and PMF software
  • Competent in Excel, Navisworks, AutoCAD
  • Overtime work as required to ensure work schedule compliance
  • International travel may be required to the country where the project may be located or relevant inter-company responsible for the project execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred in Architectural Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret 2D shop drawings into 3D models and BOMs to ensure specifications are effectively communicated to the design and production teams.
  • Coordinate effectively with various departments, fostering a collaborative team environment and professional growth.
  • Follows standards set forth by the company and project team.
  • Completes tasks within the time allotted or communicates well ahead of deadline with request for support.
