This position is responsible for the forming, cutting, sharpening, piercing, welding, and/or the painting of fabricated materials for the use of a final product. The role requires the ability to read and understand blueprints, work independently, and possess a good understanding of basic shop math and measuring techniques. Expertise with basic hand tools, air tools, gages, and torque wrenches is necessary. The job involves significant physical demands, including reaching overhead, lifting up to 35 pounds repeatedly, being on feet for long hours, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. The associate must also be capable of working independently using initiative and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include ensuring product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and care. The role involves evaluating and performing basic troubleshooting, obtaining support from supervision and engineering as needed, and potentially providing input for product improvement. Maintaining a safe and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements is crucial. Specific welding duties include performing moderately complex welding operations, utilizing a variety of welding equipment with safety measures, and potentially working in extreme temperatures or confined areas. The associate will also move parts in and out of the welding area.
