About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining all welding and fabrication equipment and supplies. The Fabricator will build, create, and design equipment throughout the facility based on received orders, utilizing welding and other fabrication equipment. The role also involves maintaining testing requirements, keeping training up-to-date, and possessing knowledge of the Simmons Hot Works Program. The Fabricator will participate as a member of the team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. They will coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings. As a team member, they will foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues and accept responsibility to quickly identify and resolve areas lacking cohesiveness. The role requires familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understanding the impact of individual actions on these systems. The Fabricator will perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives. Requirements

• Must work on feet the entire shift with lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and working in the extreme heat or cold.
• Be able to lift, push or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Proficiency in various types of welding such as MIG, TIG and stick.
• Knowledge and use of oxy acetylene torch and plasma cutter.
• Computer skills.
• Must have strong math skills.
• Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
• Have the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Have the ability to seek out and solve problems.

Nice To Haves

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
• Experience with AUTOCAD.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all welding and fabrication equipment and supplies.
• Builds, creates and designs equipment throughout the entire facility based on orders received.
• Uses welding and other fabrication equipment to fabricate equipment as needed.
• Maintains any testing requirements as set forth by your supervisor or company; keeps up to date any training that will be needed for this position.
• Possesses knowledge of and utilizes Simmons Hot Works Program as needed.
• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity and support these systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
