Requirements

  • The ability to understand complex written and verbal instructions.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex documentation.
  • Leadership of associates.
  • Responsible for a team of between 9-35 associates.
  • Experience in the operation of high-volume manufacturing equipment and the use of common hand tools.
  • Experience in nonwovens.
  • Operator training programs.
  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude.
  • Experience with fiber blending, carding, needle punch, winding, slitting, etc.
  • Hands-on doer.
  • Fork Truck experience.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • ISO knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of associates engaged in a variety of operations.
  • Reviews production schedules, material, and manpower resources.
  • Maintains workplace safety and the quality of work.
  • Meets production schedules and trains, or assures training is carried out.
  • Keeps necessary records, develops and presents reports and other documentation.
  • Works to instructions, specifications, and procedures, both written and verbal.
  • Maintains the integrity of processes and products.
  • Performs related and additional duties as required.
  • Keys in production data for single production orders and/or end-of-shift production.
  • Manages time and attendance for associates.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews.
  • Reviews scheduling and adjusts if needed.
  • Monitors production lines to ensure product is made to the highest quality.
  • Administers disciplinary action with associates as needed regarding company policy.
  • Manages time off, such as vacation and personal time.
  • Manages overtime coverage for opposite shifts and up to shifts within the department.
  • Enforces and educates safety with the team.
  • Communicates with the facilities department in the event of a breakdown within the department.
