About The Position

RiverStone Group, Inc. is a leading producer of construction aggregates in the Midwest. This position requires the ability to fabricate custom steel products from blueprint to finished product, and everything in between. If you are a hands-on, mechanically minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, we want to hear from you. In this Fab Shop Cutting Operator position you will be assisting the Fabrication Shop by preparing rebar and various steel/metal (think angle iron, pipe, beams, tube round bar, flat bar, etc.) for project competition. This position will require the ability to read basic blue prints to measure and perform lay out of parts before cutting to size. Understand what size and lengths of metal will be needed for specific projects. Keeping a neat and orderly work area is important, and valuing strong attendance is a must. This is a standard Monday through Friday, 1st shift position, with some Saturdays required from time to time. We are happy to train the right individual.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to perform physical activities in all weather conditions if needed
• Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
• Verified understanding of basic blue prints and tape measure use
• Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability to operate band saws, drill press, punch press, shear, rebar bender, and overhead hoists once trained

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean, orderly work area and complying with all OSHA and company policies/procedures
• Following all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and OSHA
• Operate various cutting tools to cut, bend, and fabricate dimensional steel
• Process job tickets in an organized accurate manner
• Load and unload bulk metal, moving metal from area to area safely
• Communicate with shop management and team on any safety and maintenance concerns
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
