About The Position

As a Fab Equipment Manufacturing and Operations Engineering Manager, you will join the Raxium team in Silicon Valley. Raxium's technology has more demanding process requirements than a typical LED fab, supported by an installed equipment set designed to meet those needs. You will select, motivate, set priorities for, develop, and manage individual performance to ensure functional excellence and engaged team members. Google's Raxium display group has established a semiconductor materials display technology designed to enable new functionality in display products, including applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is building its engineering team to advance next-generation display markets. The role leads equipment operations through the transition from pilot manufacturing to full-scale high-volume manufacturing, maintaining and repairing toolsets while driving process control, yield, defect reduction, equipment availability, predictive maintenance, and new equipment deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of leadership experience within semiconductor manufacturing, transitioning new technologies or technology nodes to high-volume production.
  • 7 years of experience in people management, leading multidisciplinary teams in a fabrication environment.
  • Experience maintaining semiconductor equipment sets within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing organizational change, specifically the transition from technology development to manufacturing.
  • Experience with capital procurement and strategic planning for advanced process development and fabrication expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Partner across the organization to transition from pilot manufacturing to full-scale High Volume Manufacturing (HVM), fostering cross-functional partnership and high productivity.
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment-related process control, yield enhancement, defect reduction, and equipment availability to achieve robust and commercially viable manufacturing capabilities for Google's AI consumer hardware.
  • Implement systems that use tool-based control to enable predictive maintenance scheduling and tool-fault identification before product quality is affected.
  • Collaborate with Process and Integration Engineering to develop equipment solutions for new processes and capability improvements.
  • Work with teams to downselect, purchase, install, and bring up new critical tools to meet production ramp.
  • Select, motivate, set priorities for, develop, and manage individual performance to ensure functional excellence and engaged team members.
