As an Equipment Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment by solving complex technical challenges, owning end-to-end equipment performances, and partnering across manufacturing, process engineering, maintenance, and supplier teams. As part of Micron’s AI-enabled ecosystem, Fab Equipment Engineers use AI-supported data, equipment health insights, and advanced analytics to improve tool performance, reliability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced certification in a related technical field OR equivalent technical military experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Technical troubleshooting & problem solving, root cause analysis, equipment/system diagnostics, analyzing and interpreting data
  • SPC principles, Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, automation and manufacturing systems
  • Technical documentation and communication
  • Collaboration and teamwork across different functions
  • Effective communication with a customer and stakeholder focus
  • Takes ownership and initiative, adaptable to new environments
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking

Responsibilities

  • Own equipment performance and reliability by identifying issues, driving corrective actions, and lifecycle improvement strategies
  • Diagnose technical issues by applying structured problem-solving and enabling rapid tool recovery to prevent emerging issues
  • Drive equipment upgrade/modification projects, implement hardware solutions and partner with vendors to resolve issues
  • Partner and collaborate across functions (Process, Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, Maintenance teams) to resolve issues
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Create and maintain SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and drive knowledge sharing
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and manufacturing standards
