About The Position

Pratt and Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for a highly motivated, goal oriented and detail focused engineer to join its team. This position requires demonstrated leadership, excellent communication skills, and a command of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering foundational knowledge. We are looking for a uniquely talented engineering leader to champion our key transformation shifts and identify new ways to improve project task execution for the F135 Program. Specific responsibilities will be leading Project Tasks for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of a cross functional group of project, design, structures, and aerodynamic team members. The Senior Engineer will need to communicate the status of technical issues, and budgets to Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) leaders, HSE leadership, internal program offices and external customers. They may also need to work closely with purchasing, suppliers, customer support and the sustainment organizations to support engine deliveries and respond to field challenges as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • BS Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Advanced proficiency and knowledge of Project Planning, schedules and prior EVMS/CAM (Earned Value Management System / Control Account Management) experience
  • Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney Project tools and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Gas Turbine hardware
  • Demonstrated leadership in engineering continuous improvement and strong communication, interpersonal, time management with organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply for a security clearance after day start.
