Pratt & Whitney is seeking an F135 Engine Technician to serve as a member of our F135 Field Team supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD. The candidate will work in a team environment with Field Service Engineers, Engineering, and our customers to provide world-class maintenance and support. This role involves the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of Pratt & Whitney F135-PW-0100/600 gas turbine engines, modules, associated new technologies, and the Rolls Royce LiftFan System. The technician will also perform F135 engine flightline inspection and maintenance activities on the F-35B/C Lighting II aircraft, routine maintenance of support equipment, and utilize technical manuals for maintenance. Participation in and compliance with the Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) Operating System and Environmental, Health, & Safety programs, training, and activities is required. The position requires the ability to work atop maintenance platforms, ascend/descend maintenance stands, lift 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet, and position oneself to perform maintenance/inspections underneath engine rails, inside the engine exhaust duct, and aircraft inlet. Accuracy in work performed is a must, and the individual must be able to adjust accordingly in a fast-paced team environment with changing/multiple priorities. Familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office, and PDF software is necessary. The ability to work overtime/holidays, any shift with adequate notice, and support periodic travel requirements is also essential. A drug screen and a Secret security clearance are required, along with passing a background check and any additional security checks by the U.S. government. This is an onsite role with shift hours from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, 2nd Shift.
