Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines Fleet Operations is seeking an Engine Technician to support both the F-35 Final Assembly & Checkout (FACO) and Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul & Upgrade (MROU) operations in Fort Worth, Texas. The role involves performing the necessary work to meet engine production requirements and ensure quality standards for the overhaul and repair of F-135 engines or modules and associated technologies. This position is for the 1st shift, but the individual must be flexible to work alternate shifts, overtime, or weekends as required, and be able to travel to customer/partner locations (40-50% travel). The technician will work on engines installed in the F-35 Aircraft as well as uninstalled engines in a shop environment. Key responsibilities include completing work priorities, building, repairing, and inspecting Pratt and Whitney F135 gas turbine engines, understanding maintenance information, and interfacing with various functions such as Quality, Field Service Engineers (FSEs), Business Environment Managers (BEMs), Customers, DCMA, JPO, and Lockheed Martin (LM) to resolve issues and ensure timely product delivery. The role also involves working with Field Service Engineering to improve methods and processes, and requires strong communication skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to self-govern. Accuracy in work performed and an understanding of gas turbine engines are essential. Physical requirements include working with maintenance platforms, ascending/descending maintenance stands, lifting 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet, and positioning oneself to perform maintenance/inspections underneath engine rails and inside the exhaust duct.
