The Engineering organization is divided into four Module Centers, including Hot Section, Compression and Mechanical Systems, Fans and Externals, and Product Delivery. The Module Centers are an extraordinary engineering organization, aligned by component-level hardware in different sections of the jet engine. We design, manufacture and service aircraft engines, auxiliary and ground power units, and small turbojet propulsion products. Pratt and Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for a highly motivated, goal oriented, detail focused engineer to join its team. This position requires demonstration leadership, excellent communication skills, and a command of Mechanical and or Aerospace Engineering foundational knowledge. We are looking for a uniquely talented engineering leader to champion our key transformation shifts and identify new ways to improve project task execution for the F135-ECU Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering
  • Advanced proficiency and knowledge of Project Planning, schedules and prior EVMS/CAM experience
  • Familiarity with P&W Project tools and procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership in engineering continuous improvement and strong communication, interpersonal, time management with organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply for a security clearance after day start would be desired.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project tasks via the Agile framework for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of a cross functional group of project, design, structures, and aerodynamic team members.
  • Communicate the status of technical issues, and budgets to CIPT leaders, HSE leadership, internal program offices and external customers.
  • Work closely with purchasing, suppliers, customer support and the sustainment organizations to support engine deliveries and respond to field challenges as needed.
