About The Position

The Finance and Insurance (F&I) Manager plays a critical role in the automotive sales process by managing all aspects of vehicle financing and insurance products. This position is responsible for guiding customers through the financing options available, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maximizing dealership profitability through effective product presentation and sales. The F&I Manager collaborates closely with sales and finance teams to deliver a seamless and transparent customer experience while maintaining high ethical standards. This role requires a deep understanding of financial products, credit analysis, and insurance offerings to tailor solutions that meet customer needs. Ultimately, the F&I Manager ensures that all financial transactions are completed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the dealership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
  • Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as an F&I Manager or in a similar finance role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle financing, insurance products, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as an F&I Professional (e.g., from the National Automobile Dealers Association).
  • Experience with dealership management systems and finance software.
  • Familiarity with credit reporting agencies and credit scoring models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and train teams.
  • Bilingual skills to support diverse customer populations.

Responsibilities

  • Present and explain financing and insurance products to customers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Evaluate customer credit applications and determine appropriate financing options based on creditworthiness and dealership guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to vehicle financing and insurance.
  • Prepare and review all necessary documentation for financing and insurance transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to coordinate the delivery of vehicles and finalize sales contracts.
  • Maintain relationships with lenders, insurance providers, and other financial institutions to secure competitive rates and products.
  • Train and support dealership staff on F&I processes and product knowledge.
  • Monitor and analyze F&I department performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and increased profitability.
