About The Position

Provide a warm, friendly, personalized experience for our guests. This is a Full-Time position working in a variety of F&B roles. To include making and serving coffee, tea, specialty beverages and maintaining grab and go breakfast items. Provide friendly service and an upscale dining experience for guests. To include waiting on tables, market, selling and serving all meal items. Responsible for maintaining high standards of presentation in the guestroom mini bars, ensuring products are promptly replaced and properly charged to guest accounts, thus ensuring revenue is collected.

Requirements

  • Barista, Room Service Servers, Restaurant Server, and Minibar with Customer Service experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Tabit (P.O.S System) a plus
  • Valid TABC Certification

  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and suggest beverage order, utilizing upselling techniques.
  • Prepare for all requests/ beverage orders paying attention to detail (i.e., preference of coffee blend, daily, sugar ratios, etc.)
  • Follow beverage recipes.
  • Serve beverages and prepared grab and go food items (i.e., croissants, breakfast breads, Danish, fruit, and yogurt. etc.)
  • Maintain sanitary and clean work areas and equipment.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure all grab and go items are prepared and available.
  • Monitor and anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests even when busy.
  • Maintain positive guest relations.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling, credit card, and room charge policies and procedures.
  • Participate in on-going training and meetings.
  • Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards as required by scheduling which will vary dependent upon the hotel’s needs.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.
  • Complete all set up and breakdown of daily grab and go items and equipment.
  • Assist with any side work or additional prep work.
  • Prepare for any/all guest requests
  • Display working knowledge of all menu items and prices
  • Complete side work as assigned
  • Respond to the needs and requests of guests
  • Answering phones and taking orders or receiving orders from hotel operator
  • Set up trays with proper condiments and utensils
  • Deliver orders to guest rooms
  • Pick up trays from guest rooms
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up, and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients, and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  • Organize assigned stations and ensure readiness prior to guest arrival.
  • Take guests’ orders utilizing upselling techniques and record all orders following service standards.
  • Input orders into the system and ensure transmission of orders is verified by kitchen when assigned to do so.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team in assigned station on service and timing.
  • Total all charges, present guest checks according to procedure, and process checks according to departmental policy.
  • Assist Food Runners as required to ensure optimum service levels.
  • Attend meetings, training, etc. as scheduled.
  • Stock minibar cart at the end of the day (before each shift)
  • Charge guests accordingly in hotel’s property management system (StayNTouch)
  • Maintain and organize minibar storage room.
  • Maintain inventory and report to supervisor
  • Meet AAA standards and procedure
  • Pick up trays from guest rooms and hallways (if needed) and set in proper location.
  • Attend required meetings
  • Communicate with team members by receiving tasks that need to be completed and assigning any necessary tasks that need to be completed via the Alice system (effort log)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Display courteous behavior with guests and team members
  • Ensure hotel equipment is proper working condition
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor
