Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and exhibit flexibility with schedule.
  • Applicant must complete training on food safety of the Casino’s choosing.
  • Must pass initial drug screening, background investigation and random drug tests.

  • Basic understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume, high-energy environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the casino and hotel.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to bend; stand; walk; sit; and use hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
  • May be required to stand for 8 hours.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down workstations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, tools, and equipment
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Label, date, and store food properly to prevent spoilage
  • Perform additional prep or cleaning duties as assigned by the culinary team
  • Learn and maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) product rotation protocols.
  • Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables and other ingredients as directed.
