About The Position

This role is responsible for managing cash transactions, ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of the deli area, and providing excellent guest service. The cashier will handle guest payments, maintain accurate records, and ensure all food and beverage items are fresh and well-stocked. This position requires a thorough understanding of the Micros system and hotel operations to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

Handle cash transactions accurately, quickly, carefully and responsibly (approximately one minute per transaction).
Complete knowledge of daily hotel events and hours of operation.
Complete knowledge of micros system.
Familiarity with hotel facilities and their location and hours of operation.
Ability to provide positive, professional guest contact.
Ability to answer guest’s questions and solve guest’s problems and complaints promptly.
Ability to ensure all bakery and dairy items are fresh and not out of date.
Ability to assure that sufficient supplies of necessary service are available to maintain adequate stock (coffee cups, lids, napkins, sugar, etc.).
Ability to ensure that proper communications take place between room service personnel and kitchen Deli Attendant.

Responsibilities

Check Deli for proper cleanliness and set up upon arrival.
Obtain and assume responsibility for your bank.
Handle cash transactions accurately, quickly, carefully, and responsibly.
Control guest checks to prevent loss, theft, or mishandling.
Follow property procedures with regard to check issuance and control.
Check Micros machines to make sure they are set to the proper menu.
Keep all tables and chairs outside Deli clean and presentable at all times.
Keep front entrance of Deli clean and presentable at all times.
Provide hotel and guest with proper documentation of all food and beverages transactions to maximize revenues and minimize overages and shortages.
Report any problems that may occur with service or a guest complaint to management.
Have complete knowledge of daily hotel events and hours of operation.
Collect payment from guest. Accurately and efficiently count and give change to guest.
Ensure correct amount of cash is given on money transactions.
Maintain good telephone techniques.
Have complete knowledge of micros system.
Accurately and efficiently fill out reports, vouchers, forms, etc, to document daily transactions and provide accounting with necessary shift information.
Follow hotel/accounting procedures in reconciling shift deposit.
Maintain a clean and appealing facility in compliance with health code and safety standards.
Prepare for the next shift by restocking adequate items in each shelf. Supply of single paper roll, pens, staples, etc. at cashier station.
Assist in taking Deli Cook orders when necessary.
Be well versed in knowledge of micros system.
Be familiar with hotel facilities and their location and hours of operation or where to direct guest to find this information.
Know directions to get to hotel.
Provide positive, professional guest contact. Answer guest’s questions and solve guest’s problems and complaints promptly. Make guest feel welcomed.
Ensure all bakery and dairy items are fresh and not out of date.
Assure that sufficient supplies of necessary service are available to maintain adequate stock (coffee cups, lids, napkins, sugar, etc.).
Ensure that proper communications take place between room service personnel and kitchen Deli Attendant.
