About The Position

Boeing Global Services is searching for an F/A-18 Ordnance Technician willing to work on 1st or 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility in Kiln, Mississippi as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
  • Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Fighter Structural modification experience.
  • F/A-18 (AO) Qualifications.
  • Prior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains aircraft ordnance and associated equipment.
  • Removes and installs ordnance related components and gear.
  • Performs Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
  • Performs flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities.
  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots complex ordnance systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Oversees training.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Prioritizes quality, product and people safety.
