F/A-18 Ordnance Technician
About The Position
Boeing Global Services is searching for an F/A-18 Ordnance Technician willing to work on 1st or 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility in Kiln, Mississippi as required. The technician maintains aircraft ordnance and associated equipment, removes and installs ordnance related components and gear, and performs various aircraft inspections and flight operation activities. They will also assemble, disassemble, and/or modify systems, configure aerospace vehicles and test equipment, troubleshoot complex ordnance systems, and perform validation/verification testing. Documentation of procedures and processes for compliance is essential, as is inspecting components and verifying repairs for flight worthiness. The role involves overseeing training and working under general direction, with a prioritization of quality, product, and people safety.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
- Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Minimum of 5 years' of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities
- Maintains aircraft ordnance and associated equipment
- Remove and install ordnance related components and gear
- Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections
- Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities
- Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes
- Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment
- Troubleshoots complex ordnance systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements
- Oversees training
