About The Position

The Boeing team is seeking an Entry-Level F-15 Flight Test Data Engineer. This position involves joining a specialized Boeing Test & Evaluation engineering team performing F-15 tactical fighter aircraft flight test activities on-site at Eglin AFB, FL. The team performing this work provides a very innovation friendly environment, with high levels of inter-team collaboration, peer mentoring, and significant opportunities for individual empowerment and project leadership responsibilities. This position encourages using your personal education, experience, and technical skills to develop and run automated digital data processing software applications to merge and convert raw data files into output products for engineering visualizations, develop autonomous and semi-autonomous systems analysis applications based on digital Neural Nets, Machine Learning, and Digital Models, and develop algorithms to support automated systems performance assessments. Performance of root-cause analysis/troubleshooting to identify and sort actual problems from non-problems and develop characterizations of systems and analyze their real-world performance against digital models are also key aspects of this role. Direct and frequent interaction across multiple engineering groups and technical teams is encouraged and supported for knowledge sharing and investigative engineering tasks. Strong Python, C#, and script coding skills, along with an innovation mindset, are highly desired. Leadership skills will be nurtured and developed to allow you to plan, communicate, coordinate, and execute complex data engineering related activities. If selected, you will be routinely exposed to a wide variety of different and interesting projects involving advanced technology systems while in their early development phase. You will also get hands-on experience with cutting edge systems where innovative problem solving is embraced. In this position you will have an opportunity to design and develop new data tools/algorithms based on digital automation, pattern recognition, machine learning/neural nets, and digital performance models; as well as, use these tools to evaluate the latest electronic and weapons systems Boeing and other contractors have created for integration onto F-15 fighter aircraft. You will be provided with self-paced on-site training, and structured hands-on experience to aid in becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of aircraft/weapons/senor systems and Data Analysis projects. These projects will include onboard fire control radar systems, electronic jammers, RF and IR sensors, onboard core computing systems, radar and IR guided missiles, control systems, jet engines, satellite navigation/communication systems, and encrypted aircraft data networks. Eglin AFB is located in the panhandle of Northwest Florida – less than 10 miles from the white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast which include a wide variety of water sports or other outdoor recreational activities.
