An Optical Technician will achieve a world-class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients’ medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services we offer. The role involves fitting and selling glasses and contacts, adjusting and repairing glasses, and providing hands-on patient care. Responsibilities also include verifying medical and vision insurances and effectively communicating with patients, doctors, and managers. The position requires embracing and executing our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support. This includes determining patients' wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectations, assisting patients in selecting frames, operating lensometers, and educating patients on specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames. Accurate measurement collection, dispensing of orders, and frame repair/adjustment are also key functions. Maintaining frame standards, ensuring inventory accuracy, and performing general office duties and cleaning are expected. The role also involves assisting with other office duties as needed.
