About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Extrusion technician in the production of brass rod products in our production facility in Cicero Il. This role will include, but not limited to running the indirect extrusion press, material handling associated with the movement of material throughout the entire facility. All team members will be required to work in all areas of the operation. Requirements

Experience working with hot metal.
Understanding of basic hydraulics.
Running a forklift and other material handling equipment.
Good basic Mathematical skills.
Minimum of 1 year experience running a hydraulic press.
Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

3-5 years preferred experience running a hydraulic press.

Responsibilities

Setup, run and operate a hydraulic indirect extrusion press.
Responsible for all aspects of the process (Loading, Running, Trouble shooting, Maintenance, Tooling, Quality, housekeeping, and safety) related to the manufacturing process.
Take initiative and work collaborative across the entire manufacturing process.
Perform visual inspections of material and equipment to ensure product quality and equipment reliability.
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Material handling associated with the movement of material throughout the entire facility.
