About The Position

Pregis is seeking an Extrusion Technician to be responsible for all aspects of production from start to finish. This includes maintaining a clean and safe operating environment, preparing for changeovers, testing product quality, efficiently operating machines, planning materials for production, and immediately reporting any concerns/issues with safety, machines, or quality to the appropriate individual. Compensation will be based on skill, with many advancement opportunities available within and outside of the Production Department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years’ manufacturing experience in a production environment.
  • Able to work any 12-hour shift.
  • Constant standing/walking
  • Frequent sitting
  • Frequent stooping/squatting
  • Frequent kneeling/crawling/bending
  • Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying of 30-50lbs. for up to 100 feet
  • Frequent reaching high, low, and out
  • Frequent stair climbing
  • Frequent typing/keyboarding
  • Repetitive and frequent use of wrist/hand/fingers
  • Good correctable visual acuity with both eyes
  • Good visual perception of color, depth, and fields
  • Good reading and writing abilities
  • Required forklift driving
  • Good hearing with both ears
  • Good use of hands/feet

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of resins and their properties preferred.
  • Extrusion, W&H Film lines experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate extrusion lines and support high-quality product.
  • Reviews order specifications to ensure the correct packaging supplies and raw materials are available to produce a product that meets the customer's specifications.
  • Observes and checks finished film coming off the production lines and takes immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
  • Remove and package finished rolls from machine.
  • Monitors equipment to ensure it is operating properly and under supervision of the Lead Operator performs routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
  • Under the direction of the Lead Operator may train team members correct operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
  • Learn and comprehend all equipment so adjustments can be made if/when needed.
