About The Position

Continental Plastic Corporation is a manufacturer, problem-solver, innovator, and supplier of choice with over 50 years of experience meeting customer needs worldwide. This non-supervisory position, located in Delavan, Wisconsin, is responsible for all machine-specific functions including startup, configuration, loading, operation, changeover, shutdown, preventative maintenance, and optimizing machine capability. The technician will ensure machines run at full capacity, perform light maintenance, and conduct quality checks to drive profitability and achieve organizational KPIs and strategic objectives. The role operates on a 2nd shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM schedule with a four-day work week.

Requirements

Education, training, and experience equivalent to a high school diploma/GED.
At least 6 months of machine operating experience (preferably in extrusion) in an industrial setting.
Coursework supplemented with mechanical systems.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Solid knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods involved in machining processes and applicable safety and OSHA requirements.
Ability to attain forklift licensure.
Ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and managing time effectively.
Ability to work independently, managing job orders and deadlines while maintaining an awareness of other business dependencies.

Responsibilities

Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and production orders to perform required tasks such as setup, loading materials, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cleaning, and completing preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
Setting up and operating single or multiple production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
Checking machine output and identifying any issues.
Adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications.
Boxing tubes, filling out tags, inspecting and gauging tubes.
Observing and assessing tubes, communicating and recommending changes and adjustments.
Keeping updated records on all machine information and activity, defective units, and final output.
Communicating with team members and support staff across shifts to ensure continuous production of quality parts with minimal waste.
