The Extrusion Technician C demonstrates the ability to accurately perform and record pipe dimensions using micrometers, O.D. tapes, calipers, and tape measures. They are also expected to correctly package units, identify non-conforming products, and make minor adjustments to equipment. Essential duties include performing all work in a safe manner, general cleaning of the production floor and assigned lines, reading and interpreting work orders, preparing specification and daily production paperwork, selecting and securing dies/heads/tooling onto the extruder, adjusting controls for speed/heat/pressure, observing machine operation to ensure pipe meets specifications, troubleshooting equipment, examining produced items for specifications, recommending improvements to production methods and equipment, suggesting changes to working conditions for efficiency and safety, stopping machines and reporting malfunctions, assisting other workers, setting up machines and equipment, cleaning equipment and work areas, and operating a forklift daily. Overtime and/or call-ins may be required to cover shifts due to manpower shortages. No supervisory responsibilities unless assigned.
