About The Position

The Extrusion Technician C role involves maintaining a clean and organized work area to company standards, operating PVC scrap grinders and pulverizers, and assisting in various shop operations. This position requires the ability to operate a forklift, bell and unitize pipe products, and perform visual inspections for flaws. The technician will also be responsible for operating banding equipment, building wooden frames, and conducting required inspections such as wall thickness, outside diameter, ovality, and length, while meticulously recording all data. Safety is paramount, and the technician must use safe working practices and report any hazardous conditions.

Requirements

Minimum High School or equivalent experience.
Demonstrate the ability to complete assigned tasks and maintain minimum standard performance.
Demonstrate trainability and the ability to follow directions during the first 90 days of on-the-job training.
Demonstrate the ability to learn to keep production records, work safely, and keep work area clean.

Works under the direction of the Supervisor and or Shop Foreman.

Responsibilities

Maintain work area to THM standard.
Operate PVC scrap grinder and pulverizer including handling and separating materials, filling containers with re-grind, and pulverized material, and keeping production records.
Operate forklift and maintain forklift certification.
Assist in any phase of shop operation, such as set-ups and changeovers, cleaning and painting equipment, sweeping and cleaning, and handling, sorting, and storing materials and supplies.
Bell and unitize pipe products.
Visually inspect pipe for flaws.
Operate banding equipment and other miscellaneous packaging equipment.
Build wooden frames when necessary.
Perform all required inspections: wall thickness, outside diameter, ovality, cut length, bell length, and record the results per J-M specifications.
Record all required data on inspection and equipment condition sheets.
Keep equipment and working area clean and orderly, including painting of assigned equipment.
Use safe working practices and report hazardous conditions at all times.
Perform other miscellaneous jobs as directed.
