About The Position

The Extrusion Support role is responsible for setting up and running equipment safely and efficiently to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements. This position involves actively supporting the company's vision and strategies, prioritizing safety, and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently. The role requires attention to detail in reviewing manufacturing orders, adhering to quality practices, performing inspections, and packaging orders according to customer specifications. Additionally, the position involves monitoring processes, suggesting improvements, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent degree.
1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to recognize safety concerns.
Knowledgeable in company wide computer systems and programs.
Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated work area.
A highly motivated self-starter.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product.
Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications.
Ability to properly use appropriate measuring tools.
Knowledge of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material.
Ability to take part in additional training i.e. Extrusion 101.

Responsibilities

Exhibit active leadership to model and support the company's vision and strategies.
Ensure safety is the number one priority and promote a safe work environment.
Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently to maximize output and meet quality requirements.
Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders by reviewing manufacturing orders for specifications.
Ensure all quality practices are followed.
Perform inspections of aluminum extrusion orders before aging.
Check the hardness and temper of each alloy.
Package orders based on customer specifications.
Load trailers based on customer specifications.
Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction.
Monitor and make correct process changes for packing product or changing rates.
Provide suggestions and continuous improvement ideas.
Distribute baskets to and from extrusion press lines.
Provide extrusion press support if needed.
Keep work area clean and orderly using the 5S system.
Continually support and improve the department's key measures.
Perform all other related assignments as required.
