About The Position

The Extrusion Support Operator II is responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements. This role involves accurately fulfilling customer orders by reviewing manufacturing orders, ensuring quality practices, checking alloy hardness and temper, packaging and loading orders according to specifications, and operating various machinery. The position also includes inspecting equipment, stocking products, monitoring manufacturing orders for deadlines and shipping instructions, and meeting delivery schedules. Additionally, the operator will monitor and adjust processes for packing and rates, participate in inventory management, contribute to continuous improvement ideas, maintain a clean work area using the 5S system, and support departmental key measures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to recognize safety concerns
  • Knowledgeable in companywide computer systems and programs
  • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated work area
  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
  • Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications
  • Ability to properly use appropriate measuring tools
  • Knowledge of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material
  • Teamwork
  • Ability to take part in additional training e. Extrusion 101

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit active leadership to model and support the company’s vision and strategies.

  • Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements.
  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders, including reviewing manufacturing orders, ensuring quality practices, checking hardness and temper of alloys, packaging orders, and loading trailers based on customer specifications.
  • Operate forklift, Crane, Yard Truck and trailer shuttling.
  • Inspect equipment and report if repairs are needed.
  • Stock products and process electronic transfers.
  • Monitor manufacturing orders for due dates and customer packing and shipping instructions.
  • Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and make correct process changes for packing the product or changing rates.
  • Participate in inventory audits and inventory management.
  • Provide suggestions and continuous improvements ideas to help better processes and procedures.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine).
  • Continually support and improve the department’s key measures.
