About The Position

Shadow Plastics, a division of Rice Lake Weighing Systems, is a premier source for high-quality custom bags and plastic film products. The Extrusion Operator is responsible for helping maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment. This role requires the ability to receive and follow work instructions, ensuring work orders are completed efficiently and with high quality. The operator will run bag machines, perform all roll and bag packaging, make safe and efficient splices on all lines, and assemble boxes, including operating the core-cutter. Maintaining good work attitude and attendance is crucial, as is performing general housekeeping, maintaining a neat work area, and segregating scrap to prevent contamination. Teamwork is essential for managing extrusion lines, changeovers, wrapping and banding pallets, and other tasks to ensure efficient shift operations. The operator must be able to work effectively both in a team and individually. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand work orders
Capability to read and use a tape measure
Basic math skills
Ability to use basic hand tools, including utility knives
Ability to drive sit-down and stand-up forklifts
Constant standing
Frequent walking
Lifting up to 50 pounds
Occasional climbing (ladders and stairs)
Good working attitude and attendance

Responsibilities

Running the bag machines
Performing all roll and bag packaging as required
Making safe, efficient splices on all lines
Assembling boxes as needed, including operating the core-cutter
General housekeeping, including maintaining a neat and clean work area
Segregating scrap to prevent contamination with reprocessing
Teamwork for taking care of extrusion lines, changeovers, wrapping and banding pallets, and other tasks to enable the shift to run efficiently
Working well in a team and individually
