About The Position

Shadow Plastics, a division of Rice Lake Weighing Systems, is a premier source for high-quality custom bags and plastic film products. The Extrusion Operator is responsible for helping maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment. Employees are expected to communicate any health or safety concerns to their lead or management promptly. A good operator must be able to receive and follow work instructions, ensuring work orders are completed efficiently and with high quality. This role involves running bag machines, performing all required roll and bag packaging, making safe and efficient splices on all lines, and assembling boxes, including operating the core-cutter. Maintaining good work attitude and attendance is crucial, as employees are expected to be at work on time every day. The operator is responsible for general housekeeping, including maintaining a neat and clean work area and segregating scrap to prevent contamination. Teamwork is essential for managing extrusion lines, changeovers, wrapping and banding pallets, and other tasks to ensure efficient shift operations. The operator must be able to work effectively both in a team and individually. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand work orders
• Capability to read and use a tape measure
• Basic math skills
• Ability to use basic hand tools, including utility knives
• Ability to drive sit-down and stand-up forklifts
• Good working attitude and attendance

Nice To Haves

• Occasional climbing (ladders and stairs)
