About The Position

Axalta Coating Systems is seeking a Warehouse Operator for their facility in Front Royal, VA. This role involves a variety of tasks related to receiving, unloading, loading, and managing materials within the warehouse. The operator will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory, coordinating shipments, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including days and nights, and requires working two weekends per month. A minimum of a HS Diploma is required, and candidates must pass a drug test and background check.

Requirements

  • Ability to be assigned to RMW secure area (CDRA) – requires a background check.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions (Word, Excel, Sharepoint, SAP).
  • Knowledge of basic warehousing functions (math skills).
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to be licensed in operating PMHE.
  • Ability to lift to 75 Lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work at heights at or above 30 feet.
  • Ability to work in a wide range of climates.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work in a self-managed environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime or other assigned schedules determined by management.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug Test and Background Check (No Exceptions).

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload trucks, including locking and unlocking.
  • Load outgoing trucks with materials such as Univar, pallets, export orders, and empty drums, ensuring proper blocking and bracing per regulations.
  • Verify material receipts in SAP and perform bin-to-bin material transfers in SAP.
  • Pull materials for loaders.
  • Re-palletize materials received on non-standard pallets.
  • Operate the MFG/RMW elevator.
  • Perform battery charging and filling for PMHE (Powered Material Handling Equipment).
  • Utilize the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) system “TIPS” for product identification.
  • Receive and process intercompany sample requests for raw and semi-finished materials.
  • Coordinate shipments with planning and the finished product warehouse.
  • Maintain area supplies such as cartons, labels, and tape.
  • Maintain appropriate shipper certifications for ground and air shipments, including DOT/IATA training.
  • Ensure proper markings of samples/cartons per DOT/IATA regulations.
  • Provide limited assistance with 'Dump Back' operations, which involves retrieving material from boxes but not removing caps or dumping material.
  • Change dust kits for the non-restricted dust system.
  • Retrieve bags from the bag house.
  • Operate dock plates.
  • Assist with annual inventory.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary.
  • Audit material locations, comparing physical inventory to SAP records, and consolidate locations.
  • Perform lockouts on equipment if necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning powder spills of non-MS coded material, removing trash, organizing the marshalling area, and arranging pigment.
  • Work in a co-managed environment with an outside contractor work service.
