About The Position

The Extrusion Crew Leader is responsible for the performance and quality of all assigned machines (Plantex, Filteco, and/or Reiter equipment). This role involves administering and maintaining safety policies, ensuring first-quality production, performing line readings to ensure correct machine setup, and preparing for product changeovers. The position requires the ability to work any shift, including overtime on short notice, and to fill in for extrusion operators as needed. The Crew Leader will ensure operators have necessary tools and supplies, report and remove waste, train and coach operators, and complete production reports. Communication with the oncoming/outgoing shift's Extrusion Technical Coordinator is essential, requiring arrival 15 minutes prior to the start of the shift. Other duties may be assigned by a Supervisor or Production Team Lead.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and write.
Must have and maintain a good attendance and safety record.
Display and exhibit leadership abilities.
Capable of safely lifting 50 lbs.
Ability to prioritize daily tasks in accordance with schedule needs.
Willingness to become proficient with computer programs such as SAP, & Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain safety policies and standards.
Ensure first quality for all processes.
Perform and maintain required line readings to ensure machine set-up is correct.
Be familiar with current schedule and prepare for/perform product changeovers.
Fill in for extrusion operators.
Ensure all operators have necessary tools and supplies.
Report and remove all waste and odd lot from work centers.
Train and coach job specifics to extrusion operators.
Complete production reports.
Communicate with oncoming/outgoing shift’s Extrusion Technical Coordinator, will require arrival at work center 15 minutes prior to start of shift.
