About The Position

The Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up and shutting down machinery according to work order specifications, producing the required quantity of films, and ensuring rolls meet quality specifications. This role involves working with different types of equipment to perform specific phases of the production cycle, performing routine machine maintenance, and maintaining a neat work area. The operator must adhere to all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding, and deliver scrap to the Erema or warehouse for processing.

Requirements

  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and record needed roll data.
  • Basic math and reading skills to calculate and enter roll data on appropriate forms, weigh rolls, read work instructions and PLC monitors.
  • Must be able to learn to how to operate industrial machines such as extruders, spiral cutter, stretcher, electrical hoist and tower equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with Spiral Cutter Operators to produce best possible film quality.
  • Must be able to learn troubleshooting of machines and operate PLC controls.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect rolls produced for defeats.
  • Recognize sounds of moving equipment and machinery for safety purposes.
  • Work with constant noise at a level requiring the use of earplugs.
  • Demonstrate good job attendance and punctuality.

  • Prior industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
