About The Position

The Extruder Operator participates in monitoring material to ensure product corresponds to the agreed customer requirements and meets Quality Control requirements. This role involves reading construction sheets, programming systems, loading materials, assisting with machine setups and material handling, reporting quality issues, performing maintenance, managing supplies, ensuring equipment readiness, and working safely in a clean environment. The position is full-time and requires flexibility in working hours, potentially including shift work, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

• GED/High School Diploma.
• Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
• Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

Responsibilities

• Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully in order to meet the customer requirements.
• Responsible for programming electric eye system.
• Responsible for retrieving and loading pellets in extruder hopper.
• Assist co-workers in machine setups.
• Assisting co-workers in tying down material and wrapping material.
• Participate in reporting any quality problems to supervisor immediately.
• Label any problem areas in the liner.
• Perform maintenance duties as needed.
• Continually review supplies and report to your supervisor any shortages.
• Ensure drive roller is down prior to a run.
• Work in a safe manner at all times by following the company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
• Will at times be asked to perform other duties.
