About The Position

The Extruder Operator monitors material to ensure products meet agreed customer requirements and Quality Control requirements. The role includes preparing and operating the extruder, supporting machine setups and material handling, identifying and reporting quality problems, performing maintenance and cleaning tasks, and following company safety procedures. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work is typically Monday through Friday but may include shift work, weekends, evenings, or holidays as job duties demand.

Requirements

GED or high school diploma.
Satisfactorily complete three months of on-the-job training.
Basic math skills.
Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8 or more hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
Full range of motion, including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds continuously.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety vests, work boots, and/or safety glasses or goggles.

Responsibilities

Read construction sheets and customer requirement sheets fully to meet customer requirements.
Program the electric eye system.
Retrieve and load pellets into the extruder hopper.
Assist coworkers with machine setups.
Assist coworkers with tying down and wrapping material.
Report quality problems to the supervisor immediately.
Label problem areas in the liner.
Perform maintenance duties as needed.
Review supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
Ensure the drive roller is down prior to a run.
Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
Perform other related or assigned duties.
