EXTRUDER OPERATOR - 12 Hour C shift (7p-7a)
About The Position
Must operate and maintain extrusion machinery. Manufacture yarn by melting pellets of Polypropylene material into long threads. Perform the following duties in accordance with ISO 9001 work instructions and standards. Performs color changes on extruder lines by changing chips, settings, clear mixer, and extrude previous colors. Clean and inspect individual pack parts. Rebuild packs containing spinneret for reuse. Monitor extrude machinery and correct quality product non conformance issues. Control machine settings, stage raw materials, and oversee production to ensure high quality operation. Add color to the yarn during the extrusion process. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Work scheduled overtime. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Follow the 5 S standards as described in the associate handbook. Hearing protection in high noise areas as needed to do the job safely.
