About The Position

Rodeo Cannabis Co. operates one of Connecticut's most advanced cannabis extraction labs, featuring state-of-the-art automation and precision instrumentation - all built to deliver consistent, high-quality, replicable results. We're hiring a dedicated Extraction Technician for our overnight shift at our Sterling, CT facility. This is a hands-on, specialized role for someone who thrives on focused work, owns process consistency, and takes pride in mastering the craft of cannabis extraction. Our lab is purpose-built for precision - you'll work with industry-leading closed-loop extraction equipment and develop deep expertise in one of the most in-demand cannabis manufacturing disciplines. With a competitive flat $22/hr rate, a focused 32-hour part-time schedule, and a dedicated overnight shift, this role is a great fit for night-shift professionals who want consistency, autonomy, and craft.

Requirements

• Ability to consistently work overnight shifts in a focused, lab-based environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods on the lab floor throughout a full shift
• Capable of repetitive bending, reaching, and fine motor tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision and product consistency
• Ability to strictly follow standard operating procedures in a regulated lab environment
• Comfortable working with solvents and lab equipment in a safety-first environment
• Must be 18 years of age or older per Connecticut cannabis regulations

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with closed-loop BHO or hydrocarbon extraction systems
• Prior experience with vape cart filling equipment or concentrate gramming/packaging
• Background in cannabis post-processing, lab work, or chemistry-related production
• Familiarity with solvent recovery operations and extraction equipment maintenance
• Experience working overnight or alternative shifts in a regulated production environment
• Familiarity with seed-to-sale compliance tracking (e.g., Biotrack, METRC)
• Certificate or coursework in chemistry, lab science, or cannabis processing

Responsibilities

• Run closed-loop hydrocarbon extraction systems safely and consistently
• Manage solvent recovery cycles to maximize yield and minimize loss
• Operate precision vape cart filling equipment to meet quality and volume targets
• Accurately weigh, gram, and package finished concentrate products to spec
• Complete accurate batch records and compliance logs for every run
• Uphold all safety protocols, SOPs, and CT cannabis regulations on every shift
• Operate closed-loop BHO extraction systems safely and in strict accordance with lab SOPs
• Monitor pressure, temperature, and flow parameters throughout every extraction run
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibration checks, and end-of-shift cleaning procedures
• Accurately complete batch records, logbooks, and seed-to-sale compliance documentation
• Identify and report any equipment issues, deviations, or safety concerns immediately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment at all times
• Hand off completed batches and shift notes to incoming day-shift team members
• Adhere to all SOPs, GMP guidelines, and Connecticut cannabis lab safety protocols
