About The Position

The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) is seeking an Extra Help - Testing Proctor. This temporary position involves proctoring exams for UACCB courses and requires availability for a mix of day, evening, and possibly Saturday shifts. The role also includes maintaining FERPA and other privacy rules related to student and test information, communicating clearly with supervisors and students, and handling instructor communication for test-related concerns. As a member of the UACCB community, the employee will also advance the Caring Campus culture to enhance student connection and success. Responsibilities include confirming work schedules, entering time worked in WorkDay, and reporting testing violations or irregularities to the instructor and supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions
  • Must be comfortable with using computers
  • Have problem-solving skills
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience with Blackboard or other student learning management system
  • Has proctoring experience

Responsibilities

  • Proctor exams for UACCB courses
  • Be available for a mix of day, evening, and possibly Saturday to work.
  • Maintain FERPA and other privacy rules that apply to student information and test information.
  • Maintain privacy of information seen on Blackboard regarding student information, grades, exam and quiz information and any other information such as but not limited to passwords and login information.
  • Communicate clearly to supervisor and students who are testing.
  • If students have concerns about the test that only the instructor can answer, call and/or email the instructor.
  • If you are aware that accommodations such as extra time or a screen reader should be provided to a student and the student states it is NOT showing this, ask the student to NOT start the test and you should contact the instructor ASAP. Other accommodations may also apply. These should be confirmed by the instructor.

  • Communicate with your supervisor, ASAP if you will not be able to proctor during a certain time period. If communication is by email, make sure you get a reply or contact the next person listed to notify.
  • Confirm your work schedule each week with your supervisor.
  • Enter time worked in WorkDay on the 15th and 30th of each month, or at the end of each week.
  • For testing violations, notify the instructor via email as soon as possible, the day of the test.
  • Any irregularities should be emailed to the instructor and supervisor
