About The Position

The Extra Help/IR Tableau Developer position at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Office of Institutional Research and Analytics is designed to provide support in maintaining and developing complex data analytics in Tableau. This role involves translating functional business operations into regulatory reporting dashboards. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Institutional Research (IR) within higher education, proficiency in Tableau, and a functional understanding of UA Little Rock's operations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• At least one year of specialized experience in institutional research
• At least one year of Tableau experience
• Familiarity with commonly used terminology in higher education, with emphasis on institutional research and analytics
• Knowledge of SQL Programming in Microsoft SQL Server
• Demonstrated skills in computer proficiency and related software applications
• Demonstrated strength in qualitative and quantitative analysis and problem-solving
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and data visualizations for institutional reporting
• Translate complex business requirements into data visualizations and actionable insights
• Extract, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Perform data quality assurance and resolve discrepancies in reporting outputs
• Troubleshoot and optimize Tableau dashboards, including performance and data issues
• Support ad hoc reporting requests through Tableau development and data visualization
