Extra Help Food Service
About The Position
This position assists the restaurant manager and assistant manager with all aspects of food production and service in retail venues. Individuals in this position have a hand in food production, sanitation, customer service, and cash handling. This role will work in any one of the retail venues including The Landing, Starbucks, McAlister's Deli, Qdoba, Timbers, and University High School Store. Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment and are only paid for hours worked. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment. All work under this appointment is required to be performed from within the State of Illinois.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work a variety of shifts and days off, up to 28 hours per week
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in food service
- Knowledge of use and operation of cleaning materials, methods and equipment
- Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions
- Good communication skills
- Good customer service skills
