This Extra Help Event Production role involves assisting with the technical operations of event production. Typical responsibilities include creating, reviewing, and implementing day-of-show production schedules, supervising IATSE stage employees and student employees, and serving as stage manager for events. This includes overseeing schedule execution, coordinating breaks, and calling show cues. The position also involves installing and maintaining lighting, sound, audio-visual equipment, and other production equipment, operating rigging components like fly rail, truss systems, and chain motors, and troubleshooting technical issues. Facility operation duties, such as assisting with room setups, facility opening and lock down, and supervising building operations student employees, are also part of the role. This is a temporary 'Extra Help' position, with a maximum of 28 hours per week across all University employment, and employees are paid only for hours worked. Extra Help employees do not qualify for most benefits, including health insurance and retirement, but are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). There is no guarantee of permanent employment, and total work hours are capped at 900.
