About The Position

The Extra Help Assistant – Administration Office Help is a student employee who provides administrative and clerical support to the Ottenheimer Library Administration Office, as well as completes special projects related to the Library’s Student Success, Research and Scholarly Communication and Collections Management initiatives. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Requirements

  • The formal education of a high school diploma
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at UA Little Rock
  • Experience with computer applications
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite and/or Google suite equivalents
  • Good keyboarding skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform detailed work
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to move book carts
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
  • Ability to stoop, bend, reach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a library environment is preferred
  • Experience with web page creation is preferred
  • Major area of study: Computer Science, Information Science, and or Information Quality is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains library webpages using the WordPress content management system
  • Enters data and creates graphs, documents, and files using Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint and/or the Google suite equivalents
  • Performs other office-related duties as assigned
