The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking to hire an Extra Help Assistant/Learning Assistant. This position is temporary (fixed term) and is not work-study. Requirements
- Some college experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to creatively solve problems
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to receive, apply, and provide constructive feedback
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
Nice To Haves
- Successfully completed qualifying STEM courses for which they are applying to be Learning Assistants, unless otherwise approved by the course instructor
Responsibilities
- Assist course instructors in designing evidence-based teaching practices for the course instructors’ classes
- Assist course instructors in implementing evidence-based teaching practices in the course instructor’s class (either in class, workshop, or lab)
- Meet with the course instructor at least once a week to provide feedback and plan for the next week’s tasks
- Guide students in the course instructor’s class as they learn course material
