About The Position

The Extra Help Assistant- EHS Tech will assist the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) in maintaining campus compliance in general safety, fire safety, lab safety, recycling, and animal control. This position is governed by government regulations and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
• Must have basic computer skills
• Some experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

• Two years of specialized training in electronics or related field
• Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Ability to localize and repair mechanical or electrical problems
• Ability to test and monitor equipment functions

Responsibilities

• Routine Safety Systems Inspection and Repair to include but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Exit Signs, Smoke/Heat Detectors, UST Monitoring Wells, Eyewashes, Safety Showers, and other Building Devices
• Fire Systems Maintenance and Inspection
• Lamp Recycling
• Safety/General Equipment Inspection
• Animal Control
• Miscellaneous Trouble Calls/Fire Alarm Responses
• Performs other duties as assigned
