About The Position

This position is to assist faculty members and students in the clinical and laboratory areas. This person would be responsible for setting up and cleaning up materials and instruments that are needed for various lab procedures, making sure that instruments are sterilized and ready to be used in the clinical setting and helping maintain the clinical and laboratory areas. Skills necessary to assist faculty and students would be: manipulation and usage of dental materials, making and trimming temporary crowns, assist with various tray set ups and instruments, assist in all aspects of radiography. Also included would be assisting with competencies for: amalgam and composite procedures, sealant placement, crown preparation, identifying the dental unit components and how they work, applying fluoride varnish, patient education, hand washing, prophylaxis and fluoride treatment to name a few.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CODA, Commission on Dental Accreditation, approved college.
• Minimum of an associate degree.
• Registered Dental Assistant with the State Board of Dental Examiners of Arkansas.
• Willing to attain national certification within one year.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
