Extinguisher/Kitchen Suppression Technician Trainee
About The Position
S.A. Comunale is seeking an Extinguisher/Kitchen Suppression Technician Trainee for a one-year training program. The role is intended for someone interested in becoming a Fire Extinguisher Technician and gaining knowledge and experience while training with fire extinguisher technicians and shop personnel. The trainee will learn about extinguisher operation, equipment servicing, and inspections, and will eventually need to obtain an Ohio Fire Extinguisher License and manufacturer certifications. The position also involves completing assigned training modules, maintaining accurate service and inspection records, communicating with customers and team members, and providing customer service. The trainee will participate in the department’s on-call rotation and work flexible hours as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong background in electronics or similar experience.
- Strong technical skills and the ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Able to lift equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Willingness and ability to eventually obtain an Ohio Fire Extinguisher License.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or industry trade school experience.
Responsibilities
- Train with Fire Extinguisher Shop Personnel on servicing the equipment.
- Train with Fire Extinguisher Technicians on how to inspect the equipment.
- Develop an understanding of how fire extinguishers work.
- Complete all assigned training modules in a professional and timely manner.
- Accurately complete required paperwork, including Work Tickets and Inspection and/or Deficiency Reports, for service calls and inspections.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Provide detailed oral and written feedback to management concerning customer issues.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Participate in the department on-call rotation and work flexible hours as required.
- Eventually obtain an Ohio Fire Extinguisher License and manufacturer certifications.
